The next step is to build the trusses. These are built right on the floor you just built. This will save time once the walls are up all you need to do is lift the trusses point down between the walls. Next tip them up and screw them down the roof is then framed. The 2 end trusses are built with end gables and siding which will takes a bit longer to complete. Besides the walls they are the heaviest members to lift into place and should be done as first of the trusses to go up. You will need a couple of tall ladders and strong helpers to get these into place. Also to brace these I used long 2x4s as temporary bracing and screws. This worked nicely since I live in a windy area and in the wind these act like sails. To move them around once up I used a small sledge hammer to tap them into place. You will also notice that I painted the outside before assembling this workshop. Painting like this makes for a much cleaner surface with less runs or uneven paint.
