easy wood projects
The walls were built on top of the floor one at a time. First they were framed, then covered with 3/4 ply fir siding that I finished with Olympic ceder stain. Everything was put together with nails and screwed to the foundation one wall at a time. The walls were braced with studs while the next wall was being built. I also added steel strapping to the walls for reinforcement. The corners of the wall frames were built heavy with the intention of being joined together. The right wall is framed so that a farm sash window can be added later. All that needs to be done is the opening for the window to be cut. The front wall was made with the intention of a door to be added later. The rest of the walls were framed as regular load bearing walls.

The right wall is built on the foundation first. It is lifted into place and studs are used to brace it.

This wall is framed for a window to be added later.

Two walls up.

Three walls up screwed into the foundation through the walls toe plate and braced with studs.

The front wall is built, raised and screwed into the foundation.

A couple of side views of the 4 walls.
