Today I finished cutting the shape of the bench. I stopped by a garage sale today and picked up a bunch of hand tools for pennies. It was a gorgeous day so I worked outdoors sawing, chiseling and used my draw knife for some cleanup.

Picked this saw up today at a garage sale for pennies.
Its a Disston D-7 and cuts smooth. Its a 7 pt rip.

Used my D-23 to cut the rest of the angles.
Its a much more aggressive 5 pt rip saw but
its also prone to aggressive mistakes so
concentration is key.

First section done.

I cut small chunks first.

Chiseled out the waste.

Cleaned things up with a draw knife.

I put the bench on a 2 foot step ladder and tried it on for size.
Cant wait to use it to make some shavings.
