I finished tapering the mortise on my shavehorse bench and started fit my tapered tenon. There are 4 of these to do then I will saw a slice part way through the tenon glue it up and wedge it through the top for a snug fit. I will saw these tenons flush with the bench after they dry.
Checking the angels of the splay and rake periodically while tapering the mortise.
Done with the mortise.
Here is where the wedge will go once I saw the slot for it in the tenon.
The leg seems a bit long but it calls for 2 feet in height. This is about 9 inches longer so I can cut the legs to where I feel comfortable on the bench once the legs are glued up. Then we can also talk about making the bench sit flat so the shavehorse will not wobble.
