Today I laid out lines to start taking off the 4 corners. I took down the 4 corners to 8 then 16 and so on. I started rounding the spindle with a spoke shave. In order to hold the reamer while using a draw knife and spoke shave I made an end vise. I took the description for this end vice( Green Woodworking End Vise) and modified it a bit. It worked but a lathe would be much better. Tomorrow I should have it tapered and rounded enough to saw a kerf down the middle and finish this tapered saw reamer.
