Today I finished the tapering on my tapered reamer by using a spoke shave. I believe it would be much faster and cleaner done with a lathe but if you dont have a lathe then it is possible to use a draw knife and spoke shave. I also put a 45 degree bevel on the back of the saw blade with a file and then turned over the bur with a burnisher. Burnish the bur over to about 10 degrees over horizontal.
