easy wood projects

Then the treadle was cut and installed on the shavehorse. You could use the shavehorse just like this, adjust it so your body feels comfortable and away you go but I chose to add leather to the dumb head and stage for extra holding power and so as to not mar the work Im holding. If you think about it though this shavehorse is made of a soft pine which holds wood well and sort of conforms to the shape for the wood your holding. In other words it has a little give. There are a few adjustments to make. The main point of the adjustments are to let you get the best hold on your wood while your working in the most comfortable position. Here is a link to the plans I used to make this shavehorse. They are on Peter Galberts chair making blog. If you have any questions on how to make this shavehorse or comments or if you get stuck let me know. I would be glad to help. Plans for shavehorse.
